If you race, motul RBF 600 seems popular. 1 Just found out I got one more car to change the brake fluid in. It doesn’t last quite as long as the honda stuff, but I find it gives more positive feel. While both fluids are glycol ether based, DOT4 contains a certain amount of borate ester, which allows it to handle more heat. DOT4 brake fluid, such as Quicksilver DOT4 Brake Fluid, is considered a higher-performance fluid since it can handle more heat. I’ve heard several reports of premature water pump seal failures due to silicate contamination with other coolants.ĪTE SuperBlue or gold (Same stuff, one’s blue and ones gold to easily see when you’ve totally flushed the fluid) is what I use, and it meets DOT4. Most applications call for a DOT3 (401 F dry/284 F wet) or DOT4 (446 F dry/311 F wet) fluid. Honda makes a great non-silicate coolant, and I wouldn’t use anything else.
